Where is Gore?

The township of Gore is 64 kilometres northeast of Invercargill and 70 km west of Balclutha.

Dunedin and Invercargill are the nearest cities. Gore has a population of 9,910 (June 2018) and is located in the Southland region of the South Island.

Gore is divided by the Mataura River into Gore and East Gore, the majority of the town being situated on the western banks of the river.

How to get to Gore

Dunedin is the closest city with an airport. By road Gore is approx 2 hours drive from Dunedin.

Queenstown (which also has an airport) is also approx 2 hours drive from Gore.

From Christchurch the drive to Gore is approx 6 & half hours drive.
